# STV Play vs Perfect IPTV Player

The clearest difference is rating: Perfect IPTV Player at 4.6 against STV Play's 3.8. Perfect IPTV Player also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (8.3K vs 13). STV Play's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 41%) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. STV Play sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Perfect IPTV Player sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.69 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Perfect IPTV Player holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Perfect IPTV Player has 8.3K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of STV Play's written reviews are positive against 41% of Perfect IPTV Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

STV Play ships an update every 6 months, Perfect IPTV Player fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
