# STV Play vs IPTV Smarters Plus Player

The clearest difference is review sentiment: STV Play at 75% against IPTV Smarters Plus Player's 27%. STV Play also leads on ads (none vs shown). IPTV Smarters Plus Player's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (2.3K vs 13). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. STV Play sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and IPTV Smarters Plus Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.29 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IPTV Smarters Plus Player holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IPTV Smarters Plus Player has 2.3K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of STV Play's written reviews are positive against 27% of IPTV Smarters Plus Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

STV Play ships an update every 6 months, IPTV Smarters Plus Player every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
