# STV Play vs IPTV Plus

The clearest difference is review sentiment: STV Play at 75% against IPTV Plus's 21%. STV Play also leads on ads (none vs shown). IPTV Plus's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.8) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. STV Play sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and IPTV Plus sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IPTV Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IPTV Plus has 201 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of STV Play's written reviews are positive against 21% of IPTV Plus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

STV Play ships an update every 6 months, IPTV Plus every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
