# B4Grad vs MyTextMate

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MyTextMate at 100% against B4Grad's 46%. MyTextMate also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and ads (none vs shown). B4Grad's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 5). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. B4Grad sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and MyTextMate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyTextMate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: B4Grad has 1.9K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 46% of B4Grad's written reviews are positive against 100% of MyTextMate's.

B4Grad ships an update fortnightly, MyTextMate every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
