# Preply vs NIMS School Diary

Preply and NIMS School Diary both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 53% of Preply's written reviews are positive against 0% of NIMS School Diary's. Preply also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (46K vs 1). NIMS School Diary's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NIMS School Diary holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Preply has 46K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Preply's written reviews are positive against 0% of NIMS School Diary's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Preply ships an update weekly, NIMS School Diary every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
