# Preply vs key education

The clearest difference is monetization model: key education at free against Preply's free with in-app purchases. key education also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). Preply's advantage is ratings volume (45K vs 6) and chart position (#106 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Preply holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Preply has 45K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Preply ships an update weekly, key education every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
