# Cross Stitch vs Cross Stitch Pattern Maker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cross Stitch Pattern Maker at 37% against Cross Stitch's 17%. Cross Stitch Pattern Maker also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks). Cross Stitch's advantage is rating (3.7 vs 3.4) and ratings volume (95 vs 14). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cross Stitch sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Cross Stitch Pattern Maker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cross Stitch holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cross Stitch has 95 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Cross Stitch's written reviews are positive against 37% of Cross Stitch Pattern Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cross Stitch ships an update every 5 weeks, Cross Stitch Pattern Maker every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
