# PlayerKit vs ChatX

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ChatX at 88% against PlayerKit's 50%. ChatX also leads on ratings volume (482 vs 4). PlayerKit's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChatX sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. PlayerKit asks for nothing beyond the download.

PlayerKit holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChatX has 482 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of PlayerKit's written reviews are positive against 88% of ChatX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PlayerKit ships an update every 3 weeks, ChatX fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
