# Google Tasks vs VitaGist

Google Tasks and VitaGist both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of VitaGist's written reviews are positive against 66% of Google Tasks's. Google Tasks's advantage is ratings volume (108K vs 4) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VitaGist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Tasks has 108K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 66% of Google Tasks's written reviews are positive against 100% of VitaGist's.

Google Tasks ships an update weekly, VitaGist every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
