# Phont vs Add Text

The clearest difference is rating: Add Text at 4.8 against Phont's 4.0. Phont's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (43% vs 33%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Phont sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Add Text sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Add Text holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 39 and 27 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Phont's written reviews are positive against 33% of Add Text's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Phont ships an update every 3 months, Add Text every 5 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
