# SMARTbrief vs DAA

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SMARTbrief at none against DAA's 1. SMARTbrief also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.6). DAA's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DAA sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. SMARTbrief asks for nothing beyond the download.

SMARTbrief ships an update every 3 months, DAA every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
