# IllumiMaze vs Overhang

The clearest difference is rating: IllumiMaze at 5.0 against Overhang's 4.5. IllumiMaze also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Overhang's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 20 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IllumiMaze sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Overhang sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IllumiMaze holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

IllumiMaze ships an update every 20 months, Overhang every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
