# PDF Editor vs FreePDF

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Editor at 4.6 against FreePDF's 1.8. PDF Editor also leads on ratings volume (331 vs 5) and review sentiment (22% vs 11%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Editor sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and FreePDF sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Editor holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Editor has 331 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 22% of PDF Editor's written reviews are positive against 11% of FreePDF's.

PDF Editor ships an update every 3 days, FreePDF every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
