# LIVE Face vs Face Scan

The clearest difference is rating: LIVE Face at 3.5 against Face Scan's 2.8. LIVE Face also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). Face Scan's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 13 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Face Scan sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. LIVE Face asks for nothing beyond the download.

LIVE Face holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 24 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of LIVE Face's written reviews are positive against 22% of Face Scan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LIVE Face ships an update every 13 months, Face Scan every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
