# Swirl Down vs Softris

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Swirl Down at 67% against Softris's 23%. Swirl Down also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Softris's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (4.3K vs 59). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Swirl Down sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Softris sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Softris holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Softris has 4.3K ratings behind it against 59, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Swirl Down's written reviews are positive against 23% of Softris's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Swirl Down ships an update every 10 days, Softris weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
