# Western Kosher vs Pretty Shell

The clearest difference is ads: Western Kosher at none against Pretty Shell's shown. Western Kosher also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Western Kosher holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Western Kosher has 137 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Western Kosher's written reviews are positive against 88% of Pretty Shell's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Western Kosher ships an update every 2 months, Pretty Shell every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
