# minicam vs HVview

The clearest difference is rating: minicam at 2.2 against HVview's 1.9. HVview's advantage is review sentiment (27% vs 16%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 10.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

minicam holds the better App Store score, 2.2 against 1.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 126 and 50 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of minicam's written reviews are positive against 27% of HVview's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
