# Prison Video vs FaceCall

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FaceCall at 83% against Prison Video's 48%. FaceCall also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 75). Prison Video's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FaceCall sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Prison Video asks for nothing beyond the download.

Prison Video holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FaceCall has 1.3K ratings behind it against 75, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Prison Video's written reviews are positive against 83% of FaceCall's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Prison Video ships an update every 3 weeks, FaceCall every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
