# VPN Vault vs Hola VPN

The clearest difference is ads: Hola VPN at none against VPN Vault's shown. Hola VPN also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and device support (5 vs 3). VPN Vault's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 73%) and ratings volume (29K vs 7.4K). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Vault sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Hola VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hola VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 29K and 7.4K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of VPN Vault's written reviews are positive against 73% of Hola VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VPN Vault ships an update every 3 weeks, Hola VPN monthly. Both last shipped on October 19, 2026.
