# Powerpay Self Service vs Skip

The clearest difference is rating: Powerpay Self Service at 4.8 against Skip's 4.1. Skip's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Powerpay Self Service holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 183 and 86 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 5% of Powerpay Self Service's written reviews are positive against 10% of Skip's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Powerpay Self Service ships an update every 6 months, Skip every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
