# FlickType vs Diné/Eng Keyboard

The clearest difference is rating: FlickType at 4.0 against Diné/Eng Keyboard's 3.5. FlickType also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (12K vs 2). Diné/Eng Keyboard's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 39%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlickType sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Diné/Eng Keyboard sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FlickType holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlickType has 12K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of FlickType's written reviews are positive against 50% of Diné/Eng Keyboard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlickType ships an update every 8 days, Diné/Eng Keyboard every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
