# FlickType vs SharkPaste

The clearest difference is rating: SharkPaste at 5.0 against FlickType's 4.0. FlickType's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 10 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlickType sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SharkPaste sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SharkPaste holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlickType has 12K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FlickType ships an update every 8 days, SharkPaste every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
