# Beanstack Tracker vs Gray Methodist

The clearest difference is update cadence: Beanstack Tracker at every 3 weeks against Gray Methodist's every 12 months. Beanstack Tracker also leads on ratings volume (101K vs 1) and chart position (#206 vs unranked). Gray Methodist's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gray Methodist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Beanstack Tracker has 101K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Beanstack Tracker ships an update every 3 weeks, Gray Methodist every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
