# Glitch FX vs Filter Stack

The clearest difference is rating: Filter Stack at 4.7 against Glitch FX's 4.4. Filter Stack also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Glitch FX sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Filter Stack sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Filter Stack holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 211 and 304 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Glitch FX's written reviews are positive against 64% of Filter Stack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Glitch FX ships an update every 2 months, Filter Stack fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
