# Event Countdown vs StarDay

The clearest difference is review sentiment: StarDay at 68% against Event Countdown's 0%. StarDay also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 14 months). Event Countdown's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Event Countdown sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. StarDay asks for nothing beyond the download.

Event Countdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StarDay has 576 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Event Countdown's written reviews are positive against 68% of StarDay's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Event Countdown ships an update every 14 months, StarDay weekly. The most recent releases landed on June 3, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
