# Spruce Irrigation vs Pentair Pool

The clearest difference is rating: Pentair Pool at 4.7 against Spruce Irrigation's 3.6. Pentair Pool also leads on ratings volume (25K vs 13). Spruce Irrigation's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 30%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Pentair Pool holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pentair Pool has 25K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Spruce Irrigation's written reviews are positive against 30% of Pentair Pool's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spruce Irrigation ships an update every 4 weeks, Pentair Pool monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
