# PRIME Wire vs Defender ClearVu

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Defender ClearVu at 86% against PRIME Wire's 39%. Defender ClearVu also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). PRIME Wire's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and in-app purchases (none vs 16). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Defender ClearVu sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. PRIME Wire asks for nothing beyond the download.

PRIME Wire holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PRIME Wire has 1K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of PRIME Wire's written reviews are positive against 86% of Defender ClearVu's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PRIME Wire ships an update every 6 months, Defender ClearVu every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
