# Festool vs Bosch ThermalOn

The clearest difference is update cadence: Festool at every 2 weeks against Bosch ThermalOn's every 4 months. Festool also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 5). Bosch ThermalOn's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bosch ThermalOn holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Festool has 1.5K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Festool ships an update every 2 weeks, Bosch ThermalOn every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
