# Festool vs IDC Woodcraft

Festool and IDC Woodcraft both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of IDC Woodcraft's written reviews are positive against 35% of Festool's. Festool's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 17) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Festool against 4.8 for IDC Woodcraft. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Festool has 1.5K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 35% of Festool's written reviews are positive against 100% of IDC Woodcraft's.

Festool ships an update every 2 weeks, IDC Woodcraft monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
