# VPN99 vs VPN Proxy

The clearest difference is monetization model: VPN Proxy at free with in-app purchases against VPN99's subscription. VPN99's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN99 sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and VPN Proxy sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN99 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 212 and 153 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of VPN99's written reviews are positive against 59% of VPN Proxy's.

VPN99 ships an update every 2 weeks, VPN Proxy every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
