# Mersenne Primes vs 新周刊

Mersenne Primes and 新周刊 both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Mersenne Primes's written reviews are positive against 78% of 新周刊's. Mersenne Primes also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13). 新周刊's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mersenne Primes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and 新周刊 sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Mersenne Primes against 5.0 for 新周刊. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 新周刊 has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Mersenne Primes's written reviews are positive against 78% of 新周刊's.

Mersenne Primes ships an update weekly, 新周刊 fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
