# DEVAR vs Kid

The clearest difference is monetization model: Kid at free with in-app purchases against DEVAR's subscription. Kid also leads on review sentiment (52% vs 31%) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). DEVAR's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DEVAR sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Kid sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kid holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kid has 218 ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 31% of DEVAR's written reviews are positive against 52% of Kid's.

DEVAR ships an update every 2 months, Kid monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
