# Cat® Inspect vs IR Track

The clearest difference is rating: IR Track at 3.0 against Cat® Inspect's 2.2. IR Track also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Cat® Inspect's advantage is review sentiment (15% vs 0%) and ratings volume (23 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

IR Track holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cat® Inspect has 23 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Cat® Inspect's written reviews are positive against 0% of IR Track's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cat® Inspect ships an update every 2 months, IR Track fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
