# Flying Gorilla vs Overclock

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Overclock at none against Flying Gorilla's 7. Overclock also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). Flying Gorilla's advantage is ratings volume (58K vs 5) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.2). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flying Gorilla sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Overclock asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Flying Gorilla against 5.0 for Overclock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flying Gorilla has 58K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 95% of Flying Gorilla's written reviews are positive against 100% of Overclock's.

Flying Gorilla ships an update fortnightly, Overclock every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
