# Face Pixelator vs Blur Video

The clearest difference is rating: Blur Video at 4.6 against Face Pixelator's 3.3. Blur Video also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (2K vs 3). Face Pixelator's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (67% vs 55%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Blur Video sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Face Pixelator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Blur Video holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blur Video has 2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Face Pixelator's written reviews are positive against 55% of Blur Video's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Face Pixelator ships an update every 6 months, Blur Video every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
