# bHaptics Player vs HDMI

The clearest difference is rating: bHaptics Player at 3.6 against HDMI's 2.9. bHaptics Player also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). HDMI's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and ratings volume (74 vs 14). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

bHaptics Player holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HDMI has 74 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of bHaptics Player's written reviews are positive against 52% of HDMI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

bHaptics Player ships an update monthly, HDMI every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
