# surco vs AC Remote

The clearest difference is review sentiment: surco at 61% against AC Remote's 20%. surco also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months). AC Remote's advantage is ratings volume (199 vs 3) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AC Remote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. surco asks for nothing beyond the download.

AC Remote holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AC Remote has 199 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of surco's written reviews are positive against 20% of AC Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

surco ships an update every 9 days, AC Remote every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
