# AI Lab vs Comet

The clearest difference is rating: Comet at 4.7 against AI Lab's 3.3. Comet also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (7.8K vs 3). AI Lab's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Comet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $20.00 per month. AI Lab asks for nothing beyond the download.

Comet holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Comet has 7.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of AI Lab's written reviews are positive against 65% of Comet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AI Lab ships an update every 8 months, Comet weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
