# 8it vs Birdbox App

The clearest difference is review sentiment: 8it at 83% against Birdbox App's 50%. 8it also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (206 vs 21). Birdbox App's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Birdbox App holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 8it has 206 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of 8it's written reviews are positive against 50% of Birdbox App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

8it ships an update fortnightly, Birdbox App every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
