# Simply Birthdays Countdown vs Outside

The clearest difference is update cadence: Outside at every 6 days against Simply Birthdays Countdown's every 2 months. Outside also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 4). Simply Birthdays Countdown's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (60% vs 52%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simply Birthdays Countdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Outside sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simply Birthdays Countdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Outside has 2.8K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of Simply Birthdays Countdown's written reviews are positive against 52% of Outside's.

Simply Birthdays Countdown ships an update every 2 months, Outside every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
