# Hal™ vs Chat PLUS

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chat PLUS at 100% against Hal™'s 50%. Chat PLUS also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Hal™'s advantage is ratings volume (65 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hal™ sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Chat PLUS sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chat PLUS holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hal™ has 65 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Hal™'s written reviews are positive against 100% of Chat PLUS's.

Hal™ ships an update every 2 months, Chat PLUS every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and July 8, 2026 respectively.
