# VPN vs HaloVPN

The clearest difference is ratings volume: VPN at 2.1M against HaloVPN's 16K. VPN also leads on review sentiment (90% vs 74%) and chart position (#11 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and HaloVPN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN against 4.7 for HaloVPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 2.1M ratings behind it against 16K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 74% of HaloVPN's.

VPN ships an update weekly, HaloVPN every 4 days. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
