# VPN vs VPN Fastway

VPN and VPN Fastway both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 25% of VPN Fastway's. VPN also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (weekly vs every 10 months). VPN Fastway's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and VPN Fastway sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN Fastway holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 2.1M ratings behind it against 57, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 25% of VPN Fastway's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VPN ships an update weekly, VPN Fastway every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
