# VPN vs MEXTUP

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MEXTUP at none against VPN's 10. MEXTUP also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (2.1M vs 91) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. MEXTUP asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN against 4.8 for MEXTUP. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 2.1M ratings behind it against 91, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 98% of MEXTUP's.

VPN ships an update weekly, MEXTUP every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
