# VPN vs VPN Hotspot Proxy

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VPN at 90% against VPN Hotspot Proxy's 17%. VPN also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). VPN Hotspot Proxy's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and VPN Hotspot Proxy sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 2.1M ratings behind it against 63, so its average is the more settled of the two.
