# VPN vs HitVPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VPN at 90% against HitVPN's 44%. VPN also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.2) and ratings volume (2.1M vs 543). HitVPN's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. HitVPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 2.1M ratings behind it against 543, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 90% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 44% of HitVPN's.

VPN ships an update weekly, HitVPN every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
