# VPN vs VPN+

The clearest difference is ratings volume: VPN at 2.1M against VPN+'s 38. VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and chart position (#10 vs unranked). VPN+'s advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and VPN+ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN+ holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 2.1M ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 86% of VPN+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VPN ships an update weekly, VPN+ every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
