# Skritter vs Eagle Mandarin

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Eagle Mandarin at none against Skritter's 11. Eagle Mandarin also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Skritter's advantage is ratings volume (816 vs 2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skritter sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Eagle Mandarin asks for nothing beyond the download.

Eagle Mandarin holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skritter has 816 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Skritter ships an update monthly, Eagle Mandarin every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
