# Burlingame Library vs CommuteStar

The clearest difference is rating: Burlingame Library at 5.0 against CommuteStar's 3.3. Burlingame Library also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). CommuteStar's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (75% vs 67%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Burlingame Library holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Burlingame Library's written reviews are positive against 75% of CommuteStar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Burlingame Library ships an update every 2 months, CommuteStar every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
