# San Mateo County Libraries vs Olyns

San Mateo County Libraries and Olyns both sit at 3.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 47% of San Mateo County Libraries's written reviews are positive against 21% of Olyns's. Olyns's advantage is ratings volume (464 vs 8) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 15.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Olyns holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Olyns has 464 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of San Mateo County Libraries's written reviews are positive against 21% of Olyns's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

San Mateo County Libraries ships an update every 2 months, Olyns every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
